Translation infrastructure
powered by renewable energy
We believe high-quality translation and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. Our infrastructure runs on some of the greenest data centers in Europe.
Our environmental footprint
We choose infrastructure partners that prioritize energy efficiency and renewable power sources.
Across our core infrastructure, over 90% of electricity comes from low-carbon sources including wind, solar, hydro, and nuclear.
Our facilities achieve a Power Usage Effectiveness below 1.2, meaning minimal energy is wasted on cooling and overhead.
Our data center partners hold ISO 14001 certification, demonstrating systematic environmental management practices.
Our infrastructure providers match energy consumption with renewable energy procurement, supporting carbon-neutral operations.
Why Netherlands and Finland
We deliberately chose data center regions in Northern Europe for their exceptional clean energy profiles. These locations consistently rank among the greenest in the world for cloud infrastructure.
- Finland: Approximately 98% carbon-free electricity for our data center region, powered largely by hydro, nuclear, and wind energy
- Netherlands: 83% carbon-free energy, with significant wind and solar capacity driving continued improvement
- Both regions benefit from naturally cool climates, enabling free air cooling that drastically reduces energy spent on temperature management
- Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) near 1.1 at our facilities — significantly better than the industry average of 1.58
Our commitment to sustainability
Sustainability is built into our infrastructure decisions from the ground up — not applied as an afterthought.
Green infrastructure providers
We select data center partners based on their renewable energy usage, cooling efficiency, and environmental certifications.
EU data centers only
All processing happens within Europe. Shorter data routes between users and servers mean less network energy consumption.
Efficient API design
Built-in caching reduces redundant computation. Repeated translations are served from cache, saving energy on every duplicate request.
Minimal data retention
We don't store request bodies in our database. Less stored data means fewer disk operations and lower energy use over time.
Continuous improvement
We monitor our infrastructure choices and update them as greener options become available. Sustainability is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time decision.
Certifications and standards
Our infrastructure partners maintain rigorous certifications for both security and environmental responsibility.
