Efficient translation
without invented green claims
We reduce avoidable model calls and publish the operational facts we can verify. Energy percentages and facility metrics vary by cloud region, so we do not present one data center as the whole service.
Verifiable efficiency controls
These are product-level controls we can verify directly in the running configuration.
Repeated eligible translations can be served from a short-lived cache instead of invoking the model again.
Translation processing is routed to a US pool for the global endpoint or an EU pool for the dedicated EU endpoint.
Customer translation content is not used to train or fine-tune models.
Idempotent responses and document results may be retained for up to 24 hours; normal eligible translation caching is shorter.
Region-aware infrastructure
Langbly does not run entirely in one Dutch data center. Requests enter through Cloudflare's global edge. The global endpoint uses worldwide access. The EU endpoint keeps translation processing and temporary storage in the EU.
- One-hour caching: eligible repeated translations avoid a second model invocation
- Conservative cache scope: personalized requests with glossaries, instructions, context or account translation memory do not enter the shared cache
- Limited retention: source text is not written to application databases or logs
- Transparent geography: customers can choose US or EU Google Cloud translation processing
Our commitment to sustainability
Sustainability is built into our infrastructure decisions from the ground up, not applied as an afterthought.
Green infrastructure providers
We select data center partners based on their renewable energy usage, cooling efficiency, and environmental certifications.
Transparent region routing
We document the global route and the dedicated EU data residency endpoint.
Efficient API design
Built-in caching reduces redundant computation. Repeated translations are served from cache, saving energy on every duplicate request.
Minimal data retention
We don't store request bodies in our database. Less stored data means fewer disk operations and lower energy use over time.
Continuous improvement
We monitor our infrastructure choices and update them as greener options become available. Sustainability is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time decision.
Operational controls
Concrete controls are more useful than broad sustainability labels that cannot be attributed to the complete service.
